Basic Socks

This basic pattern will serve you well, the socks knitted from the top down, with a sturdy heel flap and a comfortable fit.
YARN: Kelbourne Woolens Perennial (65% Merino, 25% alpaca, 15% nylon, 497yd per 100g skein), 1 skein; or 100g of any light fingering weight sock yarn that will yield the appropriate gauge (see below)
NEEDLES: US Size 1/2.25mm, set of 5 double-pointed needles or size needed to achieve gauge
GAUGE: 36 sts and 48 rows is 4”/10cm in stockinette
SIZE: Women's Medium (fits US women's sizes 6-9)
NOTIONS: Yarn needle, stitch markers
