Modular Knitting Basics: Modular Knit Bowl
Teacher: Shana Cohen
Cost: $70
When: Friday, July 31, 3:00–6:00pm
Description: Knit a bowl! Knit many bowls! In this fun “make and take” workshop with designer Shana Cohen of Shanalines Designs, you’ll harness the power of modular knitting to create an adorable knitted bowl, using the small swatch you’ll prepare ahead of time. Shana will also demonstrate what happens when you vary proportions, allowing you to tailor cute bowls to your heart’s content going forward. We dare you to make just one!
Prerequisites: Students must be comfortable with garter stitch, slipping stitches, pattern reading, and working a crochet provisional cast-on in order to complete the homework. In addition, you should have experience picking up stitches at the edge of knitted fabric.
Homework: You will need to complete section 1 (Center Strip) in the smaller size. Optional: Make multiple strips in order to work multiple samples in class!
Min/max number of participants: 4/10
