Modular Knitting Basics: Modular Bento Bag
Teacher: Shana Cohen
Cost: $70
When: Thursday, July 30, 2:00–5:00pm
Description: A cute and colorful knitted bag to hold your crafting? To hold your apricots? To hold a wee present for a loved one? Why not?? You could, for example, fit quite a few Polly Pockets in one of these bags (or a book, or some Jolly Ranchers, or a Doodle Deck, or . . . ). In this workshop with designer Shana Cohen of Shanalines Designs, you’ll learn everything you need to know to make an adorable and highly functional bento bag. As a bonus, please note that this is one of those projects whose construction holds some satisfying surprises: an aha moment lies in store for you!
Prerequisites: Students must be comfortable with garter stitch, slipping stitches, pattern reading, and working a crochet provisional cast-on in order to complete the homework. In addition, you should have experience picking up stitches at the edge of knitted fabric.
Homework: You will need to knit the first square (smallest size) prior to class, as described in the pattern.
Min/max number of participants: 4/10
