Brioche for Beginners

Description: Have you ever admired a highly textured brioche pattern but thought it was out of your crafting reach? Have you never heard of brioche but want to learn a fun and addictive new knitting technique? This class can help! Brioche is an advanced stitch technique that produces a squishy, reversible fabric that feels warm and looks absolutely stunning. In this class you’ll learn the fundamentals of the brioche stitch while making a cuddly cowl.
Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable with the long-tail cast-on, knit and purl stitches, yarnovers, and the standard bind-off.
Homework: None
Min/max number of participants: 4/8
Materials to bring along:
- 1 skein each of bulky yarn in two contrasting colors purchased from Spun, preferably one solid (we suggest Plymouth Yarn Co. Baby Alpaca Grande or Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky) and one variegated (we suggest Emma's Yarn Bodacious Bulky or Malabrigo Vientos)
- 16” size US11 circular needle
- a digital or printed copy of the pattern “Beginners Brioche Cowl” by Lavanya Patricella (purchase and download from Ravelry here)
- a ring-style stitch marker
