DIY Embroidered Doll Kits, from Toronto-based Kiriki Press, pair classic stitches with contemporary illustrations for an entirely fresh take on the medium. They're screen printed by hand with vibrant, water-based inks right onto the fabric, so no tracing or transferring is ever required! The finely detailed patterns come in a range of skill levels, allowing even first-time embroiderers to create beautiful, heirloom-quality dolls and other designs. The finished plushie will measure about 4.5" tall, and the kits are suitable for ages 12+. Level 2 kits are aimed at more experienced makers, utilizing a variety of basic and intermediate stitches that cover some of the pattern surface.
Each DIY Embroidered Doll Kit includes:
- Screen printed pattern on cotton
- Printed backing fabric
- No. 9 needle
- Range of DMC embroidery-floss
- Stuffing
- Step-by-step instructions
- Full-size colour image of finished doll
- Screen printed packaging
Please note that this kit does not contain a hoop. You will need a 6" (no. 3) hoop to embroider this pattern. You can shop Spun's selection of embroidery hoops here.
