Please welcome Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, a luxe yarn of pure bourette silk (raw silk) produced from silk fibers that are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises have matured into moths and escaped; this means that the silk worms are not killed in the process, as in conventional silk production (note the butterfly on the ball band!). Silk is a heat-regulating fiber and is thus suitable for year-round wear: its ability to wick moisture while maintaining a dry hand makes it especially nice for summer wear, and its insulating properties, like those of wool, mean that it retains heat in cold weather. Indulge yourself, or someone you love. Hand wash, and lay flat to dry.
