French Press Felted Slippers

Description: Join us to create a pair of custom felted slippers! With designer Melynda Bernardi by your side, you will explore the entire process of making a pair of classic French Press Felted Slippers. Melynda will cover casting on, knitting, and seaming, passing on helpful hints and tips along the way and explaining the felting process. Since these slippers make a perfect holiday gift, she’ll also tell you how to size a pair not only for your own feet but for others’ feet as well! You’ll go home prepared to finish your new slippers (and maybe with a little of your holiday crafting work taken care of well in advance)!
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the following: the long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, simple increases, and simple decreases.
Homework: None
Min/max number of participants: 5/10
Materials to bring along:
- 2 skeins Berroco Lanas, or 330 yds worsted weight yarn, purchased from Spun (must be 100% wool and non-superwash)
- Size US15 needles (straight or circular)
- Darning or tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Two buttons
