Kindred Knits: Patterns from My Estonian Family Archives
by Aleks Byrd
Kindred Knits, by Aleks Byrd, is a thoughtful and captivating exploration of heritage, offering a collection of designs inspired by the sketchbooks of Byrd's Estonian grandmother, Hilja, and some of her family’s heirloom crafts. The designs are modern but rooted in family and tradition, the book's 15 patterns indulging in a variety of techniques, including lace, cables, colorwork, and Roosimine, the traditional Estonian inlay method. The results are beautiful.
"Knitting stitches many things together, far beyond the literal loops of yarn. In this book, it has stitched together generations of my family."
Print only.
