Thrummed Mittens

When: Thursdays, October 17 & 24, 6:00–8:00pm
Description: Thrummed mittens are magically warm, lined with tufts of wool that block the sneakiest of cold winter winds. This class is appropriate for all skill levels, whether you’re knitting your first mitten or your fiftieth.
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the long-tail cast-on, knitting, purling, and knitting in the round.
Homework: Cast on 36 stitches with size US6 double-pointed needles, using the long-tail cast-on, join to knit in the round, and knit in 2x2 ribbing (knit 2, purl 2) for three inches.
Min/max number of participants: 4/15
Materials to bring along:
- One skein of Berroco Lanas, purchased from Spun
- One bundle of Roving for Felting, purchased from Spun
- US6 double-pointed needles
- US8 double-pointed needles
- Darning or tapestry needle
- Stitch markers
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- A copy (printed or digital) of the Warm Paws pattern, which you can purchase here
