Beginning Knitting with Karen Lucas

When: Mondays, January 6, 13, 20 & 27, 6:00–8:00pm
Description: This class is designed for both new and “rusty” knitters. You will learn basic knitting skills, including how to cast on, how to knit and purl, and how to bind off and seam, all while making a pair of cozy fingerless mitts for yourself or someone else.
Prerequisites: None
Homework: None
Min/max number of participants: 5/8
Materials to bring along:
- 1 skein of light-colored worsted weight yarn, purchased from Spun (we recommend Berroco Lanas or Berroco Vintage)
- Size US7 straight needles
- Locking and ring-style stitch markers, preferably these
- Darning or tapestry needle
- Small scissors or snips
- A copy (printed or digital) of “Easy Fingerless Mitts” by Roxanne Richardson (free download here)
