Lisa Chemery’s Merci is a crossover cardigan with an i-cord bow and buttons down one side that makes for easy dressing while looking particularly sweet! Rowan Baby Cashsoft Merino (50% Merino, 33% acrylic, 10% cashmere) is a luxurious (and washable!) baby yarn that is soft to the touch and gentle on the skin.
Merci is available in 8 sizes designed to fit kids from 3 months to 8 years. The sizes listed below correspond to the actual measurement of the finished garment and we recommend picking a size that is 0-1” larger than the child’s chest measurement for smaller sizes and up to 3” larger than the child’s chest measurement for larger sizes.
- Size 1 (3 months): 18.25” finished chest circumference
- Size 2 (6 months): 19” finished chest circumference
- Size 3 (12 months): 20.25” finished chest circumference
- Size 4 (18 months): 21.75” finished chest circumference 5/1
- Size 5 (2 years): 24” finished chest circumference
- Size 6 (4 years): 25.5” finished chest circumference
- Size 7 (6 years): 27.75: finished chest circumference
- Size 8 (8 years): 29” finished chest circumference
Each kit includes sufficient yarn for the size specified in the color combination of your choice, along with the pattern. We will purchase a copy of Merci for you via Ravelry, so you will automatically receive both a printed copy and an emailed PDF. Please note that this kit does not include needles or buttons. You will need a US6 24” circular needle and US6 DPNs (or size needed to achieve gauge). If you don't already have the appropriate needles at home, you can shop Spun's selection of circular needles here and DPNs here. The cardigan is finished with three to six 12-14 mm buttons. Our sample used these buttons.
