Lisa Chemery’s Honey Pie is a sweet pinafore for the small humans in your life! The pattern has loads of thoughtful details like picot edging, box pleats, buttons on the sides and back for easy dressing, and simple cables that are worked on the sides of the dress and extend into the straps. Malabrio Rios (100% superwash Merino) is one of our favorite yarns for children’s knits: soft and washable with lovely kettle-dyed colorways.
Honey Pie is available in 8 sizes from Newborn to 6 years and is designed to be worn with 1-2” of positive ease. The sizes listed below correspond to the actual measurement of the finished garment so to achieve the recommended fit, please choose a size that is 1-2” larger than the child’s chest measurement.
- Size 1 (Newborn): 16” finished chest circumference
- Size 2 (3 months): 17.75” finished chest circumference
- Size 3 (6 months): 18.75” finished chest circumference
- Size 4 (12 months): 19.5” finished chest circumference
- Size 5 (18 months): 20.5” finished chest circumference
- Size 6 (2 years): 22.25” finished chest circumference
- Size 7 (4 years): 25” finished chest circumference
- Size 8 (6 years): 26.75” finished chest circumference
Each kit includes sufficient yarn for the size specified in the color of your choice, along with the pattern. We will purchase a copy of Honey Pie for you via Ravelry, so you will automatically receive both a printed copy and an emailed PDF. If you purchase more than one of the same kit, Spun will automatically purchase only one copy of the pattern for you, and we will refund you the pattern cost for any additional kits. If you need more than one copy of your pattern, please include a note in the 'Notes' field at checkout, and we'll purchase and print the given number of copies of the pattern for you.
Please note that this kit does not include needles or buttons. You will need US7 and US8 24” circular needles (or size needed to achieve gauge). You will also need a cable needle and four 5/8” to 1” buttons.
