Julie Taylor’s easy Freya Earflap Hat knits up in no time in plump, vibrant Bodacious Bulky. The hat is available in five sizes, from 6 months to adult, and features an optional flower embellishment and ties that to secure the hat on a small child. (They can also hang loose for a more casual look.) Instructions are given for both knitting the hat either in the round or flat and seamed, so you can choose whichever method you are more comfortable with!
Each kit contains the pattern for Freya Earflap Hat and 1 skein of Emma’s Yarn Bodacious Bulky (100% superwash merino) which will make one hat with a relaxed circumference of 14” to 20.5” to fit size 6 months to Adult. We will purchase a copy of Freya Earflap Hat for you via Ravelry, so you will automatically receive both a printed copy and an emailed PDF. Please note that this kit does not include needles or optional button. For a hat knit in the round you will need US10.5 DPNs and, for the largest two sizes, a 16” US10.5 circular needle; if you use the magic loop you can substitute a 32” or longer US10.5 circular needle for the DPNs and 16” needle. For a flat knit and seamed hat, you will need one pair of US10.5 straight needles (or size needed to achieve gauge).
