The Color Block Mittens designed by Melinda Goodfellow, of Yankee Knitter Designs, are a speedy, cozy way to keep your fingers toasty and show your love for U of M! These simple chunky mittens with color blocking on the cuff and top have easy-to-follow instructions and include three construction methods--double-points, Magic Loop, and straight needles--so you can pick your favorite knitting style without having to modify the pattern! Pair these with our Maize & Blue Double Split Color-Blocked Cowl for a set that will keep you cozy all winter long!

Each kit contains two balls of the Fiber Co. &Make Super Bulky (100% Highland wool) in the colors Indigo Child and Smiley, and the pattern for #38 Color Block Mittens which will make one pair of mittens in any of 5 sizes, from a Child S to an Adult L with a finished circumference that ranges from 5.25” to 8.5”. (You should also have sufficient yarn to make a third mitten to protect against loss!) We will purchase a copy of #38 Color Block Mittens for you via Ravelry, so you will automatically receive both a printed copy and an emailed PDF. If you would also like to have this pattern in your Ravelry library, please note your Ravelry ID (not your password!) in the "Notes" field in your cart!

Please note that this kit does not include needles. You will need US11 and US13 needles, either DPNs, 32” or longer circular needles, or straight needles depending on your preferred construction method (or size needed to achieve gauge). If you don't already have the appropriate needle at home, you can shop Spun's selection of DPNs here, circular needles here and straight needles here.

If you'd like to make your kit a gift (for yourself or someone else), or if you just wish to keep your new project tidy and organized, add the Spun Rope Handle Bag with Pin to your order and we will package your purchase accordingly!
