What's on our needles?

As we look forward to a (less complicated?) year ahead, we'll be checking in with Spun staff to see what they're stitching to start 2022. Up this week: Anne, Annri, and Kate!
I have just cast on this toddler cardigan called The Picknmix, by Jackie McAvoy (kiddiwinksknits), a darling sweater using colorwork stripes. I am using BC Garn’s Bio Balance (Denmark), a wonderful blend of Shetland wool and organic cotton. Knit from the top down, this cardigan is bright as a rainbow! Stay tuned for the finished project. I love the sense of completion when making baby/toddler samples!

Are you ready to make your first baby sweater?

I’m working on a Frid Sweater, by Tara-Lynn Morrison (Good Night, Day), in Malabrigo Rasta, color Baya Electrica. It is super bulky, knit mostly on size US19! It’s the first time I’ve used size 19. I’m already done with the body and on sleeve island after just three days.

I'm working on Michael Vloedman's Gresham Wrap using Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok. It's a big, cozy blanket wrap, and I love the rainbow stripes that are on each end: each stripe has a different stitch pattern using just knits and purls to vary the texture and keep the project interesting.
