Spun's 3rd Annual Sample Sale

Spun is so happy to welcome back Melvin Parson, founder of We the People Opportunity Farm, to help us kick off our holiday sample sale! We’ll be opening the sale at noon on Saturday, November 19, and Mr. Parson will join us at 1pm to share the story and vision behind his Ypsilanti-based initiative to create a sustainable farming system that supports a workforce of formerly incarcerated men and women. Over the last two years our sample sale has raised over $7,000 for We the People! Let’s keep it going!

We’re offering for sale a Spun-crafted collection of over four-dozen hand-knit and -crocheted pieces, including sweaters, vests, shawls, cowls, and more, knit from some of our favorite yarns, including Brooklyn Tweed, Kelbourne Woolens, the Fibre Co., and Woolfolk. Every dollar from every sale goes directly to We the People. We'll also be offering a prize drawing for everyone who RSVPs for Melvin's talk.

Another new sweater project!

WINTER'S BEACH CARDI

Designed by Andrea Mowry and knit by Harrisville Daylights

Andrea Mowry's Winter's Beach Cardi is a cozy, no-fuss favorite and the perfect layering sweater. Julie B. notes: "I loved making this cardigan. . . . Harrisville Daylights is squishy perfection, the pattern is easy to follow, and I love the combinations of textures. It would be very easy to add length if wanted and the afterthought pockets were the highlight for me!"

The sizes range from 39.5" to 69.75" (bust circumfrence) with 6-10" of positive ease and requires 1142 to 2352 yards (5 to 10 skeins) of Harrisville Daylights.
