Spun Class Policies
Payment & refunds: Classes must be paid for in full at the time of registration. Spun will refund your tuition if you cancel over a week ahead of the first scheduled class meeting. If you cancel within a week of the first class meeting, Spun will provide a refund if we can fill your spot. If you need to cancel because you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID symptoms, please email us.
Makeup sessions: Spun cannot offer makeup sessions (although the teacher may choose to provide you with any written materials used in class).
Cancellation: Spun reserves the right to cancel a class if too few people are enrolled, in which case you will be notified at least 7 days before the first class meeting, and your tuition will be refunded. If a session is canceled because of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, illness), you will be notified as soon as possible, and the class session will be rescheduled. Please note, patterns purchased from Ravelry are nonrefundable under any circumstances.
Prerequisites and homework: When you register for a class, please be sure that you are comfortable with any listed prerequisite skills (ask Spun staff if you have any questions!), and please note whether the teacher requires pre-work or homework for a given class and plan accordingly.
Supplies and materials: We ask that any brand-specific materials be purchased from Spun and that students do not substitute. We appreciate your business and ask our teachers to suggest a range of appropriate materials at a variety of price points. If you need to purchase materials for class, please come in at least 30 minutes before the start of class so you have time to shop. You will receive a 10 percent discount on any yarn or fiber you purchase to be used in the class sessions. Schacht products (including Cricket looms and stands, weaving accessories, and spinning wheels) are not eligible for this 10 percent discount. Please note that class handouts are for registered students only, although a teacher may choose to provide a handout to a student who cannot attend a given session and provides advance notice. Any copies of class handouts are a violation of copyright law.
Attendees: Only registered students (not children or guardians) may attend a class. Unless otherwise noted, our classes are intended for students age 14 and up. Children under 14 must have permission from the instructor to register.
Reminders: Upon registration, students will receive an emailed reminder of class meeting times, materials, and prerequisites. Students will also receive a texted reminder to bring proof of vaccination along to the shop within a day of the class.
If the class you want is sold out, please call the shop to get on our waitlist: 734-780-7867.
We also offer private lessons. The rate is $40/hour, and we can do them in half hour increments. To set up a lesson, email email@example.com.
