Introduction to Drop Spindles

Description: Want to learn how to spin your own yarn for knitting, crochet, and weaving? In this class you'll learn how to use a drop spindle to spin wool yarn, including fiber prep, drafting, spinning singles, plying, and finishing your yarn. We'll also talk about the magical qualities of wool and other fibers you can spin.

Min/max number of participants: 4/8
Materials to bring along:
- Drop spindle
- 4 oz of combed top or carded fiber, purchased from Spun (we suggest Corriedale, BFL Combed Top, or BFL/Silk)
- A few yards of smooth waste yarn to make a leader
