Two-at-a-Time Sock Workshop

Teacher: Jill Tamminen

Cost: $70

When: Sunday, May 19, 2:30–4:30pm

Description: Learn how to make socks two at a time! Join Jill Tamminen from Knit Sisu to learn how to cast on and start knitting two socks at once, eliminating the dreaded "second sock syndrome." (Bonus: This technique works for sweater sleeves too!) No sock-knitting experience is necessary. The class will use the two-at-a-time technique to start a pair of cuff-down socks, and the heel and toe will be discussed.

Prerequisites: Participants should be confident in basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, and have experience knitting with fingering weight yarn.

Homework: None.

Min/max number of participants: 4/8

Materials to bring along:

  • Two separate balls of sock yarn purchased from Spun, at least 50g each (can be one 100g-skein wound into two balls, although please note that Spun staff cannot split it for you)
  • Size US2 circular needle, 40” or 47”
  • Tapestry needle
  • Simpler Sisu Sock Pattern will be provided by the instructor during class
