Stranded Knitting 101: Laying the Foundation for Successful Colorwork Knitting

Teacher: Kathy Naumann

Cost: $65

When: Sunday, October 1, 10:00–1:00pm

Description: Give us three hours of your time, and we’ll give you a skill that promises to take your knitting to the next level! In this class you’ll learn how to manage two strands of yarn simultaneously and how to read a colorwork chart. Each participant will be working on a hat pattern that has been mindfully written to produce successful stranded knitting beginners in just one class. (Note: you’ll be making a baby-sized hat during the class, and you’ll have enough yarn left over to make another baby- or adult-sized hat.)

Prerequisites: This class will focus on yarn management. Participants should have basic knowledge of long-tail cast on, knitting in the round, and independently closing a hat on double-pointed needles. There will be no focus given to hat knitting skills, although the instructor will be happy to answer any questions as time permits.

Homework: None

Min/max number of participants: 4/10
