Next Step Knitting: Chunky Hat
Teacher: Karen Lucas
Cost: $80
When: Wednesdays, February 1 & 15, 3:00–5:00pm
Description: Congratulations! You’ve learned how to knit and purl! So . . . what’s next? Hats provide the perfect opportunity to put your new skills to work: a small and manageable canvas for practicing, with a highly wearable (and giftable!) result!. You’ll learn to knit in the round with both circular and double-pointed needles, make decreases, and follow a simple written pattern. Worked in a bulky weight yarn, the Chunky Hat knits up very quickly with no fuss, so you can focus on the essentials and have fun at the same time.
Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with the long-tail cast-on, knitting, and purling.
Homework: None
Min/max number of participants: 4/8

- 1 skein Fibre Co. Tundra, purchased from Spun, and a copy of the Chunky Hat pattern (free with yarn purchase; if ordering online, buy the kit)
