Introduction to Cable Knitting

Description: Are you ready to level up your knitting with a new skill? Cables are always impressive, and (shhh!) not nearly as hard as they look–the perfect knitting combination! In this class you’ll learn to create right- and left-leaning cables to make the Zweig headband. You’ll also learn to read cable patterns using both written instructions and a chart.
Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable with the knitting basics: casting on, the knit and purl stitches, and binding off.
Homework: None
Min/max number of participants: 4/8
Materials to bring along:
- 1 skein Berroco Merino 401, purchased from Spun
- Size US7 needle, straight or circular
- Cable needle, preferably u-shaped
- Scissors
- Tapestry or darning needle
- A copy of the Zweig pattern (free with yarn purchase; if ordering online, just include a note in the comments field requesting it)
