Introduction to Assigned Pooling (section 2)

Teacher: Kathy Naumann

Cost: $65

When: Sunday, October 29, 1:00–4:00pm

Description: It’s back by popular demand! Assigned pooling is a fun and addictive technique that has taken over the knitting world. Color pooling occurs when a special stitch is worked at each color change, creating lovely little florets and a completely unique piece. Workshop participants will be knitting a shawl pattern written by the instructor. “Primo” is a one-skein triangular shawlette created from a series of increases to a center point, followed by an equal number of decreases. With this construction the piece is finished down to a final three stitches, eliminating a bind-off!

Prerequisites: Workshop participants should be confident advanced beginners and beyond.

Homework: None

Min/max number of participants: 4/10

Materials to bring along:

  • 1 skein of fingering weight yarn specifically dyed for assigned pooling, at least 420 yards. We suggest Madelinetosh/Barker Wool (either Tosh Merino Light or Twist Light). If you have questions about which yarns are appropriate for assigned pooling, please call the shop or ask at the counter.
  • Size US5 24” circular needle
