The Cricket Loom is compact, capable, and cute! The Cricket is made of high-quality maple ply and hard maple and is left unfinished.Each Cricket comes with an 8-dent reed (sorry, no substitutions), along with a threading hook, warping peg, table clamps, two shuttles, and two balls of yarn.
Rigid heddle looms make weaving fun and easy. When the heddle is moved from the neutral position to down or up positions, it creates a shed, or opening, where the weft can pass through, making weaving quicker than when picking up each yarn by hand. Bonus: The Cricket's ratchet gear and dog on the outside of the loom make adjusting tension easy and straightforward.
The 10" Cricket (13" x 18" x 6"), which weighs in at just under four pounds, is easy to take along and is the ideal size for a new weaver of any age.
