Beginning Knitting with Mary Brandau

Description: In this four-week class, you’ll learn the basics of knitting with Mary. Beginning with casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off, you’ll get lots of practice as you create a beautiful sampler scarf. Mary will also cover knitting tools and terminology, and the basics of gauge, yarn weight, and fiber. You’ll gain confidence as you learn how to fix simple mistakes and how to seam a blocked swatch. You are cordially invited to join the wonderful world of knitting! Who knows where your journey will take you?

Materials to bring along:
- Two skeins of light-colored Berroco Lanas, purchased from Spun
- 24” size US8 circular needle
- Darning or tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Locking stitch markers
