It’s a steek! Steeking is a technique that allows you to create a flat piece of stranded colorwork by working it in the round and then cutting it up the center. While the idea of taking scissors to your knitting may seem terrifying at first, this traditional method is actually very secure, and so much more efficient than working back and forth. Different methods of reinforcing steeks will be explained and compared. For this hands-on workshop, you’ll make a colorwork swatch ahead of time, and master knitter Mary Brandau will guide you as you reinforce and cut the steek.
